UPDATE – IMS 3-Gallon Fuel Tank Compatibility & Required Modifications
The Dinotech Rally Headlight Assembly for the Suzuki DR-Z4S is compatible with the IMS 3-Gallon Fuel Tank; however, some minor modifications are required when fitting the two products together.
1. Top Left-Hand Stay Bracket Clearance
The top left-hand side stay bracket requires minor modification to provide adequate clearance between the bracket and the IMS plastic fuel tank.
The end of the bracket must be carefully filed or ground back to provide sufficient clearance.
IMPORTANT: Always check clearance carefully after installation. The bracket must not contact or rub against the plastic fuel tank. Failure to provide adequate clearance could eventually rub a hole through the fuel tank, resulting in a fuel leak and potential fire hazard.
2. Main Mounting Bolt Modification
Due to the increased size and shape of the IMS 3-Gallon Fuel Tank, the original single long 6 mm through-bolt cannot be installed.
Instead, the mounting arrangement must be modified to use two separate 50 mm long 6 mm bolts, installed from opposite sides.
This requires modification of the original Suzuki fuel-tank mounting bracket, which is reused when fitting the IMS tank. A threaded insert/sleeve must be welded into the original bracket, replacing the original through-bolt arrangement and allowing the two separate 50 mm bolts to be installed.
This arrangement provides a strong and secure mounting solution.

For customers who do not wish to carry out the fabrication themselves, SSS MOTORCYCLES can supply the complete mounting assembly already modified and ready for installation for $195.
The kit includes:
- Original Suzuki mounting bracket
- Welded threaded insert/sleeve modification
- Required 6 mm mounting bolts
- Bracket supplied already fabricated for the IMS/Dinotech installation
Customers who have already purchased their IMS fuel tank from SSS MOTORCYCLES can purchase this mounting kit separately for $195.
